Welcome to The Dorset Wine Company website. It is our intention to continue the tradition of quality independent wine merchants and sell wines that you simply cannot find in the larger retailers or supermarkets due to their small production, individuality and often quirky nature. We like to believe that the service we offer is second to none and that the level of individual and personal attention that we provide our customers sets us apart from other retailers. 

Our wine list consists of a huge variety of wines from around the world and it is constantly being revised and added to as we come across more and more terrific wines. We do not intend to launch an e-commerce site as yet but we do offer free delivery in Dorset and deliveries can be arranged further a field by individual quotation.  What we love best of all though, is to see our customers in the shop where we are always delighted to run through what's new and exciting on our shelves.

Thursday 6th November - Bodegas LAN, Rioja

at No.6 North Square, Dorchester

Hailed by Wine Spectator as "possibly the hottest old winery in Rioja", Bodegas LAN is leading the way in the production of astonishingly good wines.  We are honoured that Trinidad Villegas is making the trip especially to present these fabulous wines at a 4 course Dinner.  Tickets are £35 per head and on sale now from the shop.  Be sure not to miss this fantastic opportunity. 12th & 13th November - Tamar Ridge, Tasmania

at Sienna Restaurant

19th November - Mionetto, Italy

at Olive Tree Restaurant, Bridport

This early evening reception is going to be great fun, and a terrific opportunity to taste the immaculate sparkling wines of Italys' most popular Sparkling wine producer.  Price TBC, but for further details please call the restaurant on (01308) 422882.

26th November - Auntsfield Estate, Marlborough

at Yalbury Cottage, Lower Bockhampton

The original Auntsfield Estate was established in 1873, producing the first commercial wines of the now stratospherically popular Marlborough region.  Viticulturalist Ben Cowley will be presenting a range of his show stopping wines and explaining what it means to be 'nutrient neutral'.  £65 per head for 5 Course meal and all tasting wines.  Please call the restaurant to book on (01305) 262382.

5th December - Fine Wine Tasting

Venue: The Engine Room Restaurant, Poundbury

To finish off our Autumn program of events, we will be hosting an informal Fine Wine tasting.  This is the highlight of the season for us and we are delighted to have the support of our key suppliers who will be showing a selection of jaw-droppingly good wines that are drinking well this winter.  Whether you are a Rhone Ranger, Burgundy nut or lover of fancy New World wines, there will be something for everyone.  Why not invite colleagues, clients or friends to this informal tasting that promises to be truly memorable. We will be offering a 10% discount on any wines that you fall in love with on the evening.  Tickets are £10 per head, available in advance only from the shop.  (01305) 266734.
