100% Syrah. Depending on the age of the vines, Jacques uses two different winemaking methods. The grapes from older vines are crushed before undergoing a rigorous 'pigeage' morning and night while the younger grapes, which are harvested later, are pressed whole to allow for a lower extraction. The winemaking process lasts 22-28 days and both wines are matured for 12 months in oak barrel before being blended together for bottling.
A sombre, purple robe with hints of violet. Kirsch fruit on the nose as well as fine hints of flower, spice, mocha, liquorice, nutmeg, violet and cherry. Very generous and silky in the mouth. Well integrated tannins and minerality are lifted by a fresh acidity.
